Our timber frames include all the post and beam necessary to frame your house. Of course, we will also raise it on your foundation. Finish products like doors, windows and sidings are not included. This way, you can choose whatever you like to use.
There are many frame type available. We can split them in three groups: principal rafters, common rafters, principal and common rafters.
To join the frame all together we try to use as much as we can traditional joints. These joints we developed a few centuries ago by creative carpenters. Some traditional joints date back to the middle-age so they are considered reliable.
We usually work with soft woods. They are mostly eastern white pine or Douglas fir. Eastern white is a little cheaper than Douglas fir but is also much weaker. Douglas fir is available in length of up to 40 feet.
We can also work with different species or reclaimed wood as you wish.
